Hosaline road in the city is heading to make a record of sorts.

Even though work on widening of the road was taken up two years ago, motorists are yet to see the project completed making it probably the longest project to be incomplete in the city.

The district administration had conducted an anti-encroachment drive two years back, assuring that the 60 feet road would be widened. However, two years later, work is yet to be completed.

Protests and repeated requests from residents have turned futile. The road is an important link for people arriving from Sakleshpur on B M road to Hassan city.

Adding to the problems is a pile of mud near Basaveshwara Kalyana Mantapa, which was dumped about three months back.

With monsoon set to hit the state, repair work on the road could probably take a longer time to complete.
