Both Houses of the State Legislature were adjourned sine die on Wednesday night after passing nearly a dozen bills. While the Assembly was adjourned around 11pm, the Upper House conducted the business till 0030 am.
A good number of bills were passed in the Council in the absence of main Opposition parties. They also maintained silence to express their protest for not giving sufficient time to participate in discussion on the budget proposals for the current year. When the Bills came up for discussion in the Council late in the evening, only two MLCs - Marithibbe Gowda (Ind) and Dr C S Nadagouda (JD-U)- were present in in the Opposition bench. During the 15-day session, 21 bills were passed.
