An elderly person and his son have been arrested by Mysore rural police on the charges of abetting the latter’s wife to to kill self.
Mahadevi (27), wife of Srinivas of Sindhuvalli in Mysore taluk had allegedly consumed poison at her house on May 5. She was rushed to K R Hospital, where she succumbed on the same evening.
In her statement to the police, she had accused her husband and father-in-law Karinayaka of domestic harassment, besides forcing her to commit suicide. Acting on her complaint, the police arrested the two on Wednesday under section 306 of IPC.
Already, a case is pending against Srinivas for allegedly murdering his kid, a few years ago.
Mysore rural police have registered the case.
