Bengaluru: Putting an end to all the speculations, in his first reaction about his health, Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries
H D Kumaraswamy said there is no cause of concern and he is doing fine.
Speaking to DH, Kumaraswamy on Monday said that he has lost weight upon medical advice.
“I am doing fine and there is no cause for concern. I have lost weight on doctors’ advice and keeping up with my routine commitments at the Ministry,” said Kumaraswamy.
For the last few weeks there were various reports on social media platforms and YouTube channels speculating about Kumaraswamy’s health posting some of his recent pictures where he has been seen weak and thin by losing a lot of weight.
Kumaraswamy having cardiac-related ailment is a known factor and according to sources close to him, he had some infection which went undetected for a while and even the Delhi weather contributed to it. “After taking charge of the portfolios he had to travel a lot. Even sitting inside the parliament for a long hours in the air-conditioned environs caused infection,” the source explained.
Meanwhile, clarifying about his father’s health, JD(S) Youth leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy while addressing a press meet in Mandya recently said, “It was true that there were small variations in Kumaraswamy’s health. But he is doing fine now and no need to worry. There are discussions going on about his health, but due to his parents’ blessings and God’s grace he has recovered completely. The party workers and people of the state should not worry about his health.”
It can be recalled that even in the political circles there were discussions about Kumaraswamy’s health for the last few weeks.
There were also rumours that Kumaraswamy would resign for central minister’s portfolio due to his health condition and return to state politics in November.
