Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said he was not under pressure from any quarter to send supplementary reply to the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) over a petition seeking a CBI probe against three former chief ministers for their alleged role in illegal mining.

Speaking with mediapersons here on Friday, he said the government had provided all information on the alleged involvement of former chief ministers S M Krishna, N Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy to the CEC on the issue. But the CEC sought more information, hence, supplementary reply was sent. There was no pressure from anybody in this regard.

Gowda said he was happy that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa had got an anticipatory bail in the illegal mining case and that he had welcomed the court order.
“The anticipatory bail has ensured that he is not arrested. I am confident that he will come clean of all charges,” he said.

When asked about the deadline set by the Yeddyurappa loyalists to convene the BJP legislature party meeting, the chief minister retorted saying that the question should be posed to those who have set the deadline. He said decision on convening the legislature party meeting will be taken only after consulting the party high command.
