IAS officer who objected BASE fund release transferred

Commissioner for Collegiate Education M N Ajay Nagabhushan, who had raised objections to funds released by the government to the Bengaluru Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics, was transferred on Tuesday.

The 2004-batch IAS has now been posted as Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar. Last month, Nagabhushan had red-flagged the release of Rs 107 crore for the BASE saying the due procedure was not followed. Following this, Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayareddy had publicly chided him for doing so.

He will be replaced by 2002-batch IAS officer N Manjula who was serving as Director of Tourism.
