Bengaluru Rural Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K A Dayanand, on Friday said that a few senior IAS officers are reluctant to implement Kannada as the administrative language of the state.
Speaking about 'E-Administration: Implementation and Challenges' at a session 'Kannada Tantrajnana', organised as part of the 83rd Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana here, Dayanand said that not even 25% of the government websites are in Kannada language.
"It is not difficult to develop the websites in Kannada. Within a month, all the websites can be developed in the regional language. It is only due to lack of interest among a few officials, that implementation of Kannada has been delayed," the official said.
A few IAS officials, who do not know Kannada, are not allowing implementation of Kannada as an administrative language. The officials should take a lead in this regard, Dayanand said and urged them to support e-administration in the functioning of the state government.
