It is said that a notices had been issued to acquire land to make it as service road for the the ongoing Bangalore-Mysore double track project. But the notice was received by Lingaraju, the former owner of the site.

When the encroachment clearance was taken up on Monday morning, the house owners Prameela, Shivaraju, Nanjesh, Gayathramma and family members opposed the demolition.

Former Town Municipal president M I Praveen and member Soude NIngaiah who arrived at the spot, held discussions with the railway officials.

But the talks failed as the officials explained the reasons for clearing the house. Praveen also spoke to Town Municipal President Amarababu and Chief Officer Chikkananjaiah over phone requested him to provide alternative arrangement for the four displaced families at the Ashraya colony temporarily. Only after the assurance of Amarababu, the families shifted the household articles and made way for clearance.
