Illegal quarrying; explosives seized

They recovered explosives worth Rs one lakh which included 104 detonators, three bundles of wire and 80 kilogram of ammonium nitrate. 

The Police arrested two persons in this connection. Nataraj is the owner of the quarry.

On receipt of information, Superintendent of Police Koushalendrakumar inspected the recovered explosives at Town Police Station. Pandavapura Police have registered a case.

13 hurt in mishaps

In another two separate road mishaps, 13 persons sustained injuries in the taluk on Sunday. Rajegowda of Chandre village was injured in a head on collision that occurred between auto rickshaw and goods tempo. He sustained fracture on his leg and had to be admitted to K R hospital of Mysore.

In another incident, about 12 persons were hurt when Tata Ace mini truck they were travelling in, hit by a lorry near Handpost at Elekere in the taluk.

The injured have been admitted to General Hospital in the town.

Pandavapura Police have registered both the cases and are investigating.

Shop gutted

A textile showroom, ‘Sunil Selections’, on R P Road in the city was gutted in an accidental fire. According to the owner goods estimated worth Rs 25,000 has been destroyed. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
