Increase BSNL towers in Chamarajanagar dist: MP

He was speaking at the inauguration of the BSNL Distribution Centre here recently.

While private mobile operators were limited to the city, Dhruvanarayan said that BSNL was providing service to rural areas. Pointing out that in order to call phone numbers in Hanuru and Punajanaru, customers have to prefix zero, Dhruvanarayan said that the problem had to be sorted out at the earliest.

Mentioning that it was everybody’s responsibility to help the government mobile operator to grow, he appreciated BSNL for opening a centre in the district.  In the Chamarajanagar and Mysore Telecom Region, the number of 2G towers is 244 and number of 3G towers is 75. Chamarajanagar District has only 69, 2G towers are 69 and three 3G towers.

In the telecom region, there are 2,64,440 pre-paid customers, while there are about 7.117 postpaid connections. BSNL has a total of 2,71,557 customers in the region. BSNL Mysore Circle General Manager Gowrishankar, Zilla Panchayat President K Rajeshwari, Vice President Siddaraju, member B P Puttabuddhi, City Municipal Council President Bhagyamma, Vice President Selvibabu, members Puttaswamy, Mahadevaiah and others were present.
