This observation was made by Prof M H Bala Subrahmanya, Chairman, Department of Management Studies, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), at the 10th International Consortium of Students in Management Research, here on Thursday.

He said the trend started this year. “Although we may not recruit them, many Indians working in universities overseas are trying to come back. It could be due to the continuing recession there and also India now providing challenging research opportunities.”

The department has received about 10 applications already for teaching post. Subrahmanya said the two-day conference aimed at promoting interaction and network among research students from across India. Shortlisted research papers will be presented at the conference.

“The jury will select the top three among the shortlisted students’ papers, which will be published in ‘South Asian Journal of Management’,” he said.

In the last decade, the department has received around 650 research papers.
