The simmering differences of opinion in the BJP district (city) unit came to the fore during an executive committee meeting held at a private hotel in the city on Thursday.

The party workers exchanged abuses in front of state-level leaders — former ministers Aravind Limbavali and S A Ramdas, former MLC Go Madhusudhan and others. The altercation erupted among the workers as former chairman of Mysuru Urban Development Authority L Nagendra was not invited on to the stage. The supporters of Nagendra blamed local party leaders of ignoring their leader.

Later, the workers took ex-MLC Go Madhusudhan to task for his comments against the workers while delivering the keynote address. The party workers alleged that Madhusudhan has involved in anti-party activities in the recently concluded MLC polls from South Graduates constituency. However, Limbavali managed to pacify the workers.
