The inflow of water from Maharashtra into the river Krishna and its tributaries receded for the sixth consecutive day.
Low-lying bridges in Raibag and Athani taluks which were submerged are now open for traffic. However, three low-lying bridges in Chikkodi still remain underwater on Friday.
Bridges between Kallol-Yadur, Karadga-Bhoj and Mallikwad-Dattawad continue to remain underwater for the third consecutive week. Alternate routes are made available for traffic.
Since last weekend, rains have receded in the catchment areas of river Krishna and its tributaries. Discharge of water from Maharashtra reservoirs has diminished. Water is now at the normal level in Krishna and its tributaries.
Inflow from Maharashtra into river Krishna reduced to 85,400 cusecs on Friday.
Inflow from Rajapur barrage was 65,292 cusecs and 19,712 cusecs from river Doodhganga.
Inflow into Hippargi barrage is 98,000 cusecs and outflow 97,000 cusecs.
