The inflow into river Krishna and its tributaries increased on Friday with nearly 2 lakh cusecs water flowing into the state from neighbouring Maharashtra.

Deputy Commissioner S Ziyaullah, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer R Ramchandran and Assistant Commissioner Chikkodi Subdivision Geeta Koulgi visited flood-prone areas and alerted residents.

Options are being explored for creating temporary gruel centres (for flood-hit people) and goshalas (for livestock) in case the river floods the taluks.
