The first day of the Mangalore University level inter-college athletic tourney organised at Mahatma Gandhi stadium at Ajjarkadu in Udupi, witnessed a record set by Rashmi in javelin throw.
Rashmi, representing Alva’s College Moodbidri, threw javelin to 43.29 meters distance, thus breaking her own previous record of 39.48 metres, set in 2011-12. K Madhu from the same college bagged the second place in javelin throw with 31.97 metres and M Mamatha from Alva’s BP.Ed College won the third place by reaching 31.78 metres.

Tripple jump: B M Jwali (Alva’s) I place, B V Chandini (Alva’s) II place, A Priya (SDM) III place.
400 meters hurdles: B B Shyamili (SDM) I place, Kusuma (Alva’s) II place, H C Roja (SDM) III place.
(Results men) 800 metres race: Devanna Nayak (Alva’s BP.Ed) I place, Bharath (SDM) II place.
Discuss throw: Sudhir Shirodhane (Alva’s) I, Kenchappa (Alva’s) II.
Javelin throw: Manhith Vittal (SDM BBM College) I, B Natesh (Kalyanpura Milagres College) II.
