The Karnataka Police had definite information that the assailants in this case hailed from Tamil Nadu and were hiding there. The co-operation of Tamil Nadu police is very important to curb crime, he said.
This was discussed at the interstate border police officers meeting held between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu police organised as part crime prevention programme at PWD Guest House at Malemahadeshwara Hills in Chamarajanagar district on Wednesday.
Police officers of both states discussed to find solutions to end poaching of wild animals by a gang hailing from Tamil Nadu operating in forest region intersecting both States, with the mutual co-operation of police from both states in many cases.
They also decided to hold this crime prevention meeting every three months to share intelligence, to put an end to anti social activities in the border districts of both states.
Kollegal Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahadevaiah, Channapatna Deputy Superintendent of Police Siddappa, Sathyamangala Deputy Superintendent of Police Mutthuswamy, Salem Deputy Superintendent of Police Muniyappan, Tamil Nadu Assistant Commissioner of Police Shivakumar, Ravikumar, Raviraj Narayan, Nagendra Rao, Hanur Police Inspector R Mohankumar, MM Hills Police Inspector Gangalingaiah, Kollegal Police Inspector Renukaradhya and Yalandur Police Inspector Sureshkumar and others were present.
