Intermittent rains in parts of state

Intermittent rains continued to lash malnad region on Monday. Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Thirthahalli, Hosanagar received rains intermittently.  Water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1,789.65 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet.

Kodagu district received an average of 15.21 mm rainfall. In the last 24 hours, Madikeri taluk received 32.05 mm rains while Virajpet and Somwarpet taluk received less rain. The water level in Harangi reservoir stood at 2,857.55 feet. Dakshina Kannada district received an average of 12.7 mm of rains.

Water levels in River Krishna and its tributaries came further down on Monday with rains receding in the catchments of the rivers in Maharashtra. The outflow from the Rajapur barrage in Maharashtra into the river came down to 42,126 cusecs, while outflow from Hippargi barrage was 90,500 cusecs.
