Rajya Sabha member Dr L Hanumanthaiah has said that it was not a crime to be a naxal.
Speaking after inaugurating Gandhi Jayanthi programme at AVK College here on Tuesday, Hanumanthaiah said that naxalism comprises violent, non-violent and democratic mode of struggle. “Violence and killing someone constitute crime. People who fight for securing the rights of others are being branded as urban naxals. Do you call it democracy?” he said.
