New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Zilla and Taluk Panchayat elections in Karnataka, JD (S ) Youth President Nikhil Kumaraswamy on Friday met with BJP state in-charge General Secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal and discuss strategies for ensuring smooth coordination between JD (S) and BJP in the state.
Insisting that both alliance partners will put joint candidate against Congress in these polls, Nikhil Kumaraswamy said he is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday to seek necessary guidance and suggestions to strengthen the NDA alliance in Karnataka, particularly with a focus on local body elections.
Ahead of the meeting with the Home Minister, Nikhil held a preliminary discussion with Agarwal, said a statement from the JD(S).
During the previous Lok Sabha elections, the JDS-BJP alliance mounted a strong fight against the Congress, achieving remarkable results. “The people of Karnataka have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and there is a need to preserve and build upon this trust by working together,” Nikhil reportedly told Agarwal said the statement.
