JD(S) MLC Puttanna, who is not on good terms with the party leadership, is likely to join the BJP in the coming days.
The BJP is learnt to have been wooing Puttanna, who is a three-time MLC from Bengaluru Teachers Constituency. The saffron party is planning to field him from Yeshwantpur Assembly constituency in the next Assembly elections, sources in the BJP said.
When contacted, Puttanna, however, said that he is still in two minds on joining the BJP. “It is a fact that I don’t see eye to eye with the JD(S) leadership. But my MLC term ends in 2020. Both the BJP and the Congress have approached me. I am yet to take a final call,” he added.
