Protesters, led by State JD(S) Women’s wing president N Jyoti Reddy took out a rally in front of the KSRTC office on Tuesday, to condemn the disrespect shown to a plaque unveiled for KSRTC bus stand in Gauribidanur in 1998.

The plaque was found displaced from its original place.

Apparently enraged over it, Jyoti said, “Then Transport Minister PGR Sindhia had unveiled the plaque here and I was the Member of Legislative Assembly in 1998. But, renovation work on the bus stand is on since a few months. Amid this, the plaque has been thrown away.”

Manager locked up

The protesters locked up depot manager Suresh.

The protesters demanded that the plaque be placed again in its place and threatened to intensify the protest, if their demand is not considered.

Learning about the protest, the KSRTC officials visited the spot and promised to place the plaque in its original place. Later, the protesters withdrew the protest.
