JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has said his party would not cooperate with the judicial commission appointed by the State Government to probe land deals from 1995.

Kumaraswamy said the Lokayukta had already begun investigations into denotification of lands following a complaint filed by his party.

The Government constituting a judicial commission to inquire into the same charges showed it had no confidence in the Lokayukta. “The JD(S) wants the Lokayukta to probe the misdeeds of the Yeddyurappa Government,” he said.

Referring to a news report in the Deccan Herald, Kumaraswamy said Judicial Commission chief Justice Padmaraj had been allotted a site at a layout developed in violation of norms. “Can we expect fair inquiry by such a person,” he asked.

The House Committee headed by A T Ramaswamy had reported that the Judicial Layout where Padmaraj possessed a site was developed illegally by the Karnataka State Judicial Employees Society.

Reacting to another report in this newspaper on the Bangalore Development Authority’s poor financial situation, Kumaraswamy said that a few years ago, the BDA was making profit.

But during Yeddyurappa rule, it had run into losses, reflecting Yeddyurappa’s style of functioning, he said.

The JD(S) leader said his party would continue its struggle to bring down the BJP government by moving the court against the misdeeds of the government. He said the JD(S) would take out a ratha yatra covering all the districts of the State.
