JD(S) workers staged a protest against corruption in Chikmagalur Assembly constituency, by burning effigy of Minister for Higher Education C T Ravi and by locking the office of Housing Board, on Friday.
The protesters carried out a procession from Ganapathy temple in Housing Board colony and shouted slogans against the Minister.
Addressing the protesters, former MLA S L Dharme Gowda said that CA site which was not used for any purpose has been sanctioned to Anjaneya Educational Institution.
The site in Housing Board colony was lying vacant for the last several years. “No quality work was taken up in the name of development and repair of drains. The funds have been misappropriated,” he said.
JD(S) leader S L Bhoje Gowda said that by holding Vikasa yathra in Chikmagalur constituency, Ravi had tried to misled the voters.
Pamphlets on corruption in the constituency was distributed on the occasion.
