Rekha, a resident of Kellangere village of Arsikere taluk is the accused. She used to steal gold and silver ornaments from homemakers by befriending them giving them food laced with sedative.
Recently, the accused stole gold ornaments worth ` 60,000 from her neighbour Shantha.
In another incident, Rekha had stolen a mangalsutra worth ` 80.000 from another homemaker Vidyarani of same village after offering her Kesaribath laced with sedative.
During interrogation, the accused explained her modus operandi before the cops.
Arsikere Rural Police have registered a case.
