Thieves cut shutters of a jewellery showroom at Kasabapeth and made away with ornaments worth Rs 11 lakh on Tuesday midnight. The showroom belonging to Shankarsa Habib, is situated adjacent to the police station. Sources said the same gang attempted to loot another jewellery shop near CBT under town police station limits, but in vain. They abandoned the cylinder used for cutting shutters, before fleeing. Separate cases are booked.
