Addressing the Kanaka Jayanthi celebration held at Kote Hale on Thursday, he said that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa announced Kanaka Jayanthi as a government holiday and hence with this, the government has been arranging meaningful programme on this day. He said that district administration is organising a simple programme due to the North Karnataka floods.

Information Officer Vinod Chandra delivering the keynote address said that Kanakadasa was a social reformer in true sense.
ZP CEO Mirza Akbarullah, Additional Deputy Commissioner Chandregowda, Municipal Commissioner K Srikanth Rao, DySP J D Prakash and others were present.
