Vijaykumar, a Kannadiga from Santhemarahalli in the taluk, has made Karnataka proud. He is a member of the troupe that bagged the coveted Golden Reel award in Los Angeles, US, recently.

Vijaykumar is a member of sound designer Resul Pookutty’s troupe, which won the best sound award.

Pookutty - sound designer, sound editor and mixer of the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame - is the first Asian to win the award for his documentary ‘India’s Daughter’, based on the Nirbhaya rape incident in Delhi.

The troupe comprises four members, including Vijaykumar, who worked as the poly and effect editor.

He is associated with Pookutty for the past several years and is a resident of Mumbai.
