Bengaluru: The Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed a Bill renaming the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University after Mahatma Gandhi. The Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University (Amendment) Bill was passed without any debate.
The government, in its 2025-26 Budget, has also announced that the Bengaluru City University would be named after former prime minister Manmohan Singh.
