Sagar: A case has been registered at the city police station with regard to two boys spitting during the immersion procession of Ganapathi idol installed by Jai Bhuvaneshwari Yuvaka Sangha in Jannat Nagar area on Sunday.
A video of two boys misbehaving inappropriately during the procession went viral on social media. In this context, a case has been registered under Section 192 (incitement to riot), Section 352 (2) (act of disturbing public peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint filed by Nagar Police Station Sub-Inspector Nagaraj.
Meanwhile, leaders of the BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Bajrang Dal held a meeting with Superintendent of Police Mithun Kumar and demanded action against the culprits.
"There should be an investigation into who incited young children to misbehave during the Ganpathi procession. Such incidents should not be taken place," demanded State BJP Vice President H Halappa.
"The department officials have taken immediate action regarding the minor blunder that took place during the procession. A case has already been registered and an investigation will be conducted from all angles. Sharing the video of the incident on social media is a crime as per the law. Action will also be taken against such people," said Superintendent of Police Mithun Kumar.
