New Delhi: A group of Congress MLAs from Karnataka, loyal to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, are camping here and are trying to meet the party's top leaders.
The MLAs who are in Delhi are — H C Balakrishna (Magadi), K M Uday (Maddur), Nayana Motamma (Mudigere), Iqbal Hussain (Ramanagara), Sharath Bachegowda (Hosakote), and Shivaganga Basavaraj (Channagiri), Nayana Motamma (Mudigere) party sources said.
These MLAs, who came to national capital on Sunday night, tried to meet Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal and General Secretary (in charge Karnataka) Randeep Surjewala. However, they failed to get an appointments with any top leaders, sources said.
While these MLAs continue to stay in Delhi, another group of legislators loyal to Shivakumar were likely to come here in a day or two to demand the party leaders to make Shivakumar as the Chief Minister.
Last week, a group of MLAs met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders and requested them to effect immediate change of leadership in Karnataka and appoint Shivakumar as the CM.
