Kendriya Vidyalaya at Sadalaga in Belgavi district will start functioning from the 2021-22 academic year, initially for Classes I to V.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya, which comes under the Chikkodi Lok Sabha segment, starts functioning in a building provided by the state government till the school constructs its new building. The school will grow consequentially up to Class XII.

Besides Sadalaga, Kendriya Vidyalaya will also start functioning from the 2021-22 academic year at Ropar in Punjab as well.

“When these Vidyalayas start functioning in full capacity, around 1000 students of the area will be benefited in each school. The Admission process in both the Vidyalayas will start in the academic session 2021-22,” an Education Ministry statement said.

“It gives me immense pleasure to announce that the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is starting two new schools in Karnataka and Punjab,” Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

From 20 schools in the year of establishment-1963, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan now has 1,247 schools till the year 2020-21 including three KVs abroad – Moscow, Kathmandu, Tehran.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya for Sadalaga and Ropar were approved by the Union Cabinet in March 2019, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Cabinet had approved a proposal to set up 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas under the civil and defence sector.
