Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that his constitutional position prevented him from responding to the recent “threats” of the RSS and allied organisations.

In a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, copies of which were released to the media, Vijayan refered to RSS and allied organisations “kicking up a controversy” over his visit to Mangaluru on February 25 to attend a few programmes.

Sangh Parivar outfits had staged protests ahead of Vijayan’s visit to Mangaluru charging that he is involved in political violence against RSS functionaries in his home turf Kannur. Vijayan has thanked Siddaramaiah for providing the necessary security and support during his visit to Mangaluru.
