Hubballi: The KLE Technological University in Hubballi hosted ‘Kalaa Devi-2025’, its annual drawing competition aimed at nurturing creativity, imagination, and artistic skills among schoolchildren. The event which was conducted in the University Quadrangle on Sunday attracted more than 700 students from Hubballi–Dharwad.
Eight out of the nine prizes across the three drawing categories were secured by girl students. In addition to the drawing competition, ‘Best from Waste’ project exhibition was organised for high school students, promoting sustainability, innovation, and environmental awareness.
The contest was conducted under three themes: The theme for category A (3rd–5th standard) was ‘My Favourite Cartoon’. For category B (6th–7th Standard), the theme was ‘Bad Effects of Pollution on Environment’ and for category C (8th–10th Standard) the theme was ‘My Dream’.
In category A, Shradda A K of Chinmaya Vidyalaya bagged first place. Dhwani A of Nirmal Thakkar CBSE School got second while Abhinav S Arkasali of V S Pillai English Medium School bagged third. In category B, Sanvi Yaragoppa of V S Pillai English Medium School got first place, Apurva U Shet of Convent High School got second and Pihu Kabade of V S Pillai English Medium School bagged the third place.
In category C, Sukada Murgod of Convent High School, Khushi Guggari of Dr DV Joshi Rotary High School and Devishi Vihesh of Chinmaya Vidyalaya bagged first, second and third places respectively.
The ‘Best from Waste’ – project exhibition winners are: Dr Ambedkar Residential Girls School stood first, SR Bommai High School, Gokul Road stood second and KLE MR Sakre CBSE School stood third. The JSS School, Dharwad and BVKVCP Batle High School for Girls received consolation prizes.
Regional Transport Officer Shrikant Badiger inaugurated the competition. KLE Technological University Student Welfare Dean Sanjay Kotabagi, officials Siddu Bellad, Matapati, Ashalatha, and Inner Wheel Club president Minal Salunke were present.
