Kodagu cops seek Kerala cops' help to nab 250 criminals

A high level meeting of police officials at Kannur held a detailed discussion on the crimes in border areas and exchange of information. IGP (Western and Southern), IGP of Kerala (North) and 10 SPs, forest, excise department senior officials including Inspectors had taken part in the meet.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, he said “though warrant has been issued against 250 to 300 accused in cases related to murder, dacoity, illicit liquor, fake passport, counterfeit notes, all are absconding. As a result, the warrant issued by the court could not reach the accused. We have given a list of most wanted accused, to Kerala police.” The meet also discussed mechanism to crack theft of vehicle and wooden logs in border areas.

The meet was not restricted for police department alone. A similar meeting will be held in Karnataka within six months.
