The applications received during Janasamparka grievance meetings should be cleared on priority, said Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya.

Presiding over the district level officials meeting at the DC's office hall here on Monday, she told the officials to give attention to accelerating the disposal of applications.

"Hurdles to the Ashraya housing scheme should be cleared so as to provide houses to the houseless soon," she said.

Taking the officials to task for not identifying sites for the construction of Ambedkar Bhavan in the district, the DC asked the officers concerned to earmark land for Morarji Desai residential schools.

"It should be seen to that the people who have already availed RTC under Forest Rights Act do not face any trouble while constructing houses. The forest and revenue departments should jointly conduct a survey wherever necessary," said Sreevidya.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagadish instructed the Forest Department officials to clear the trees in the site allocated for the construction of houses in Galibeedu.

An additional compensation of Rs 2 lakh should be provided to the families who have lost their members following heavy rain and flood in Kodagu, he added.

Assistant Commissioner T Javaregowda, Women and Child Welfare Department Deputy Director Malleswamy and Tahsildar Kusuma took part in the meeting among others.
