The utsav is being organised jointly by the department of Horticulture, Watershed development, Social Forestry, Veterinary department, sericulture, Women and Child Welfare department, fisheries, Agriculture Market Committee, SKDRDP, Organic Village scheme, Agriculture department and Zilla Panchayat.

The utsav aims at reaching out to the farmers on various information related to agriculture, said Agriculture department Joint Director H R Thippesh. The 40 stalls at the venue will provide information on various government schemes for the development of rural people. The utsav will help the farmers to achieve sustainability in agriculture.

More than 2,000 farmers will take part in the utsav. As many as 21 farmers who have won Krishi prashasti will be felicitated on the occasion.

He said farmers should know the technical aspects of agriculture to become empowered. Along with food crops, they should grow commercial crops, horticulture crops, pisciculture and dairy farming.

Mudigere Horticulture College Research Assistant Director Dr K Venkatesh, Agriculture expert Dr Dinesh Kumar, Dr M N Thimme Gowda, Dr K M Devaraj, Dr D Jemla Nayak, botanist N Umashankarkumar, Soil Expert Shivanna, Dr Ganapathy, G S Yogish, Mudigere Krishi Vijnana Kendra Convener Prasanna Kumar will take part in the krishi utsava and will guide the farmers.
