KSRTC depot manager held for graft

The manager of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation depot in Kunigal was  trapped by the vigilance squad while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 500 to sanction leave to a driver-cum-conductor, on Wednesday.

Satish, a driver-cum-conductor had sought a week’s leave on account of illness of his wife. Nataraj, the manager of the depot was allegedly demanding Rs 500 for sanctioning leave, and Rs 200 as ‘mamool’ every month. A distraught Satish had lodged a complaint with the vigilance squad.

The squad, led by Shivaprakash caught Nataraj while he was accepting the bribe. Several staff members also lodged complaints against the manager on the occassion.
