Addressing media persons here on Monday, Jaggesh stated that this was being planned so that the city buses could connect metro railway stations with other parts of Bangalore. “It is also being thought to introduce a system, according to which passengers coming from other districts can travel in city buses in Bangalore with the same ticket,” he said.

KSRTC is doing well and it has received seven national-level awards, he said. The corporation has recorded Rs 52 crore profit in 2010-11, and the profit in 2009-10 was Rs 47 crore. Modern buses are being introduced, and Tamil Nadu is also following KSRTC model in this regard. Multi-axle Benz buses have become very popular for inter-state journeys, and such hi-tech buses would be introduced for journeys within the State also, Jaggesh revealed.
