K'taka Assembly adjourns sine die

The session which was scheduled to last till July 30 came to an abrupt end following the dharna by Opposition Congress and JDS, that entered the fifth day today.

When the House met at 3 pm, Speaker K G Bopaiah appealed to the Opposition members to call off their dharna but as they continued to shout slogans, he adjourned the House sine die.

Earlier in the day, amidst dharna and uproar, the Assembly passed the financial bills and also 10 other bills, including the Karnataka Lokayukta Amendment Bill 2010 to give more powers to the Lokayukta institution and was adjourned to meet in the afternoon
