A ‘technical glitch’ has led to the postponement of Girish Kasaravalli’s award-winning film Kurmavataara’s scheduled release in Bangalore on Friday.

Cinema lovers across the City were a disappointed lot after Deccan Herald, in its review of the film on Saturday, had mentioned that the film was releasing on March 29, Friday, as scheduled.

“I called up all the multiplexes in the City and was informed that the film was not being screened. I was disappointed,” said Sanjay, an MTech student.

It is learnt that the film was supposed to be released in three multiplexes apart from a few single screens that beam movies via satellite. While the makers had adapted “Kurmavataara” into one format, the theatres had a different format, rendering the screening impossible. A meeting held to solve the impasse was successful, with the theatres assuring the producers of correcting the ‘glitches’ soon.
