Kuvempu was not just a poet, but a revolutionary and a good orator, said retired Kannada professor of Karkala Bhuvanendra College M Ramachandra.

It is a well-known fact that he was a multi-talented, he added.

In his inaugural address, at the ‘Kuvempu Namana’ programme jointly organised by Kannada Sangha of University College and Kannada Balaga, Mangaluru at Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana recently, he added that Kuvempu made Kannada language and literature, rich with his contributions.

Resource person, Bantwal Government First Grade College Principal Dr Ajakkala Girish Bhat said that one can find the Kuvempu’s thoughts have inspired development in the state. “Kuppalli Venkatappa Puttappa’s literature motivates one to nurture progressive thoughts,” he added.

Presiding over the function, University College Principal Dr Uday Kumar M A said: “Kuvempu’s literature is a huge asset which will never get exhausted even if it is distributed across the world”.

As a part of the event, students presented essays and poems of Kuvempu. Mangalore International Airport Former Director M R Vasudeva was present.
