Lack of facilities in Mudigere makes passengers' plight miserable

The new bus stand constructed only a year ago in Mudigere at a cost of Rs 1 crore is deprived of basic facilities and the condition of passengers is pitiable.

The bus shelter has no seating or drinking water facilities. Earlier, the buses bound to Belur and Sakleshpur would stop at the platforms. But now the buses stop behind the bus shelter.

No seating arrangement

Passengers have to sit on the bare floor as there is no seating arrangement. This causes great difficulty to elderly, women, children and ailing people waiting for the bus.

The ladies resting room is of no use as it is locked most of the time. The toilets at the Mudigere bus stand are poorly maintained. The unclean toilets force the passengers to bear the stink.

During the rainy season, the condition gets worse as the sewage overflows. The condition of local residents and the students and staff of Boys’ Government PU College becomes pathetic during these days.

The passengers have urged the officials concerned to repair the toilets, to provide seating arrangement, drinking water and other basic facilities at the bus stand.
