Enthusiastic villagers offered ‘bagina’ to Hosakere in Nanjadevanapura, where the water has  reached the brim of the lake after a gap of 30 years, in Chamarajanagar taluk, on Friday.

The lake was revived by diverting water from Kabini river. Residents of the villaged led by Sri Gurumalleshwara Mutt Rajendra Swami took out a procession and performed special puja at Basaveshwara temple and later performed ‘Ganga puja’ at the lake.

The residents of surrounding villages too took part in the celebrations in large numbers. Local leader P Nagesh said that the project had come as a boon for the villagers.
