The carcass of a leopard cub was found in a snare, near Kanakatte lake in the taluk on Wednesday.
The villagers, who found the dead leopard amid the bushes immediately informed the Range Forest Officer H R Rajanayak, who visited the spot along with the other personnel.
The carcass was shifted to Jajuru, where veterinarian Kiran conducted the post-mortem.
It may be mentioned that a leopard and its two cubs were found dead in a similar manner at Talalu Tore village in the taluk recently.
