A two-and-a-half year old leopardess fell into a trap laid by the Forest department at Shingenahalli under Dandiganahalli hobli in the taluk on Thursday night. It was later released into the forest.

Upon receiving several complaints from the residents of the village, the department had placed a cage a few days ago.

According to Range Forest Officer Hemanth, the leopard was released into the forest after it was examined to be in a healthy condition.
