Thirty-five-year-old Shivanand Yellappa Eddelli, a resident of Ramatheertha-Hosakoppa village in Hangal taluk, was struck by lightning on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was working in the fields near his village when the incident occurred. He is survived by his father Yellappa, mother Somakka, his wife, a daughter and two sons.
A case has been registered at the Hangal police station.
