A woman lost her eye sight and also suffered injuries when lightning struck her on Sunday night at Rampura village in the taluk.
Parvathi, 36, years, is the victim. Other members of her family had a providential escape.
The walls of her house developed cracks due to impact of the lightning. The incident occurred when she came out to lock the main door.
The neighbours shifted her to K R Hospital.
