M C Jayakumari Sonappa and H M Rajani (both BJP) were elected as president and vice-president respectively of the ZP on Wednesday.
Interestingly BJP had no elected representative following elections to the ZP which has a total strength of 18. However, five from the Congress and four from the JD(S) defected to the BJP prior to the polls. Jayakumari defected from JD(S) and Rajani from the Congress.
