Two youths, said to be lovers, committed suicide by consuming poison at Amareshwar Temple in Yadgir district on Thursday.
According to police officials, the deceased have been identified as Shivashranappa Arane (23) and Bhagyashri Basavaraj (17). Both were residents of Sagar village in Shahapur taluk in Yadgir district. Family sources said they were in love for the last two years and wanted to marry. However, their parents opposed their union, which forced them to consume poison and end life.
Shahapur police station officials have registered a case and investigating the case.
