Late IPS officer K Madhukar Shetty is a real-life hero. The students should be aware of the works carried out by him, said Backward Classes Commission former chairman C S Dwarakanath.
Speaking at a programme to remember IPS Officer K Madhukar Shetty organised by Raitha Sangha, BSP, Congress, JD(S), Kannada Rakshana Vedike, Kannada Sene and Dalit Sanghatane here at MES School Hall on Saturday, he said, “Madhukar Shetty had served in four to five districts in the state. When he died, the entire state mourned his death. The condolence programmes were held in all the districts in the state.”
Shetty was known for his sincerity, honesty and hard work. Shetty should be an inspiration for the youth, he said.
“Madhukar Shetty never craved for publicity. He had discharged his duty efficiently in Lokayukta. He had carried out investigations without bowing to any pressure. Owing to his efforts, an influential minister and his son were jailed,” he said.
“None of the politicians supported Shetty when he was alive. He was serving as the Deputy Director of Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy (NPA) in Hyderabad. None of the government’s treated him well. But the politicians from all political parties shed crocodile tears after his death,” he added.
Farmer leader Gurushanthappa said, “Madhukar Shetty had served as the SP in Chikkamagaluru district in 2006. He had contained Maoists, Matka menace, gambling and other illegal activities to some extent during his tenure.”
